In 2010, Wood Partners launched Wood Residential Services, an in-house division focused on property management. Joining the existing asset management team, the property management group focuses on the daily operations of a small subset of the company’s portfolio. In the coming years, its responsibility is expected to grow to include approximately half of the firm’s properties.

The decision to form Wood Residential Services highlights a unique aspect of the company’s culture – its desire to continually improve. As one of the largest multi-family developers in the country, Wood Partners now has the depth and expertise to manage many of its properties in-house, particularly those in markets where the company has a significant presence.

At the same time, the company recognizes the value of third-party management. In certain instances, due to product type or location, the very best asset management choice is an outside company. It’s a flexible approach that recognizes the unique nature of each and every apartment community. Rather than implementing a single management scheme across the portfolio, property and asset management decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.

The result? Residents who love their homes, and apartment communities that are true assets to their neighborhoods.
